We had an absolute ball at Rusty’s
roundup! I thoroughly enjoyed myself leading Rusty’s Wranglers,
who played out of their skins, to a man.
Our early Elvis (Ivor Potter)
was an absolute winner, despite being advised to stick to his
day job, as he was a damn fine truck driver.
The band, comprising B J Cole
(steel guitar), Nick Pynn (fiddle), Graeme Ross (standup bass),
Mike Kelly (drum), and Debby Tyndall (chanteuse), alongside myself,
Dusty Evsky (guitar) made an absolutely authentic 50s western
swing combo, which was even more remarkable as it was all done
with the bare minimum of run-through on the day. I was immensely
proud of them all.
