- This photo is of me rehearsing
the actors who made up the skinhead band in 'Oi For England',
a Royal Court production from 1983. They are (left to right)
Paul McGann, Robin Hayter and Peter Lovstrom. Out of shot is
Dorian Healy on drums. That's me on air guitar. This play was
probably the most exciting and relevant bit of political theatre
that I have ever been involved with. The director was Antonia
Bird, with whom I worked right up to (and including) Face in
1997. I was immensely proud of what those four lads, who were
after all actors, not musicians primarily, achieved in three
weeks of rehearsal.
At the last night party (three months on) they played a 45 minute
set that was breathtakingly exciting and raw.
